The Talk’s Sharon Osbourne Apologizes for Telling The View to ‘Go F*ck Themselves’

“What’s the difference between The Talk and The View?” That relatively benign question from Arsenio Hall to the hosts of CBS’ The Talk this week has ended up causing some major problems for Sharon Osbourne.

Julie Chen attempted to answer Hall’s question, as the hosts sat around a table earlier this week drinking what we can only assume was something highly alcoholic out of red Solo cups. “We do not discuss politics, we do not debate,” Chen said before Osbourne abruptly cut her off.

“Cut to the chase, stop being polite,” Osbourne declared after downing her drink. “Barbara—idolize her, divine, she is super-human, I love Barbara Walters. The rest can go f-ck themselves!”

Cut to the next morning, when Osbourne decided it was probably best to do the “polite” thing and apologize. “Unfortunately I was inappropriate and I was trying to be funny at someone else’s expense,” she said. “I want to apologize to Jenny, Sherri and Whoopi, who are all accomplished, self-made women who have amazing careers… It was my irreverent behavior and no disrespect meant.”

Sherri Shepherd was the only member of The View’s cast to respond publicly to Osbourne’s statement, though she did it in a roundabout way as a reply to another critic on Twitter.
