Here at Mediaite, we consume a lot of cable news, and very often, we’ll be watching and have a startling realization: “By George, Fox News’ looks an awful lot like Megyn Kelly Katherine Heigl!” From there, inevitably, the rest of us will chime in about who else looks like a film actor or comedian or the star of a Spanish Telenovela. This has made us wonder, which celebrities would be cast as our favorite cable news personalities if they were to make a movie about the industry? We brainstormed and came up with a couple we think you will enjoy.
There's no cross domain hackery or tracking voodoo, it's just some sweet jQuery animations.
Please, think of the animations.
In the meantime, enjoy the html version below. I guess. If that's your thing.
Halle Berry and Tamron Hall
MSNBC's News Nation host bears a pretty striking likeness to the Hollywood starlet.
John Stossel and Tom Selleck
Fox Business Network's
John Stossel could've filled in for Selleck during an episode of Magnum P.I. and nobody would've noticed.
Eric Bolling and David Hasselhoff
Mitch Buchannon, Fox News' The Five's Eric Bolling is a lifeguard -- for freedom.
Sean Hannity and Nathan Lane
We can't stop giggling over this doppelganger.
Arianna Huffington and Rachel Weisz
The blog mogul and occasional pundit has many of the same features as the star of
The Constant Gardener.
Fox News' Andy Levy and Telenovela Star Manuel Baqueiro
When a certain editor came home to her mom watching the hit Spanish drama "Amar en Tiempos Revueltos," she was in for a shock. What was TV's Andy Levy, of Red Eye fame, doing playing the role of well-meaning bar owner Marcelino? Alas, it was not he, but Manuel Baqueiro, who is a dead ringer for the Fox News star.
David Corn and John Malkovich
David Corn sometimes seems like he's exchanged bodies with actor John Malkovich.
Bill O'Reilly and Gene Hackman
Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Greta Gerwig and Fox News Contributor Kirsten Powers
For the longest time, I thought Kirsten Powers starred in
Piers Morgan and Colin Firth
When Colin Firth came to visit Piers Morgan Tonight, staff must have been seeing double.
Stephen Colbert and Bob Saget
We weren't the first to make the same connection between this Full House star and this Comedy Central regular. (
h/t Jon Mackin)
Katherine Heigl and Megyn Kelly
Heigl was definitely born to play Megyn Kelly in the Fox News movie.
Chris Matthews/Ed Schultz and Mad-Eye Moody
Just joshing Chris and Ed! Still,
Brendan Gleeson's Mad-Eye Moody undoubtedly Matthews' and Schultz' closest Harry Potter-related doppelganger -- and one of Mediaite's favorite media muggles.
