The View on Trump’s Demand For Apology from ABC: He Doesn’t Get ‘Difference Between Criticism and Racism’
The ladies on The View condemned President Donald Trump today — as he continues to make himself the center or the commotion regarding ABC’s cancellation of Roseanne.
Even though the president has yet to say anything about Barr’s racist comments about Valerie Jarrett, he’s still demanding apologies from ABC over the network’s critical coverage of his administration.
“He doesn’t seem to know the difference between criticism and racism,” Joy Behar said. “People criticize the president. That is the job of the media: to criticize…That’s a job of the president to accept the criticism like a man.”
The panel went on to discuss how the current development fits with Trump’s pattern of crying “fake news” over news reports he doesn’t like, not because they aren’t actually true. Sunny Hostin declared that Trump shouldn’t receive apologies from anyone until he can prove he actually deserves them.
“If he is looking for an apology, I would like him to apologize for what he said about Haiti…I would like him to apologize for the lackluster, despicable response for Puerto Rico that led to the deaths of over 4,500 people. I would like him to apologize that he threw toilet paper and paper towels out to the people of Puerto Rico when they were suffering. I want those apologies, and I think until he leads by example, he doesn’t deserve apologies.”
