CBS trumpeted the announcement in a press release Thursday:
THE TALK beat “The View” in both women 18-49 and women 25-54 for the first time ever, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending July 13.
THE TALK topped “The View” in women 25-54 by +10% and by +14% in women 18-49. Compared to last week, THE TALK was up +23% in viewers, +38% in women 25-54 and +60% in women 18-49.
The View remained on top with total viewers (more than 2.8 million to The Talk’s 2.7 million) but came up roughly 60,000 viewers short among women 25-54 and 3,000 short among women 18-25.
Otherwise, The View has enjoyed substantial commercial success since its debut in 1997.
