The View Names Replacement for Rosie Perez
Just hours after Rosie Perez said goodbye to The View, ABC has revealed a new permanent co-host for the daytime talk show. Comedian Michelle Collins, who has been appearing regularly on the show over the past few months, is officially joining the panel.
Collins, a self-described “Ted Cruz birther”, is a comedian who previously worked on VH1’s Best Week Ever website and co-hosted The Gossip Queens on LOGO. Essentially, she is filling the hole left by Joy Behar last year.
Perez tipped her hat on the news before it officially broke, saying, “Michelle, welcome,” in her farewell remarks. She also welcomed Raven-Symoné, who was announced as a permanent co-host a month ago.
Meanwhile, the fate of Nicolle Wallace remains a mystery after Variety reported last week that both she and Perez were on their way out of show, which has had an unprecedented amount of turnover in the past year. “How you doin’, Wonky?” moderator Whoopi Goldberg jokingly asked Wallace, referencing the alleged complaints against her made by an unnamed source.
