The View Piles on Conservative Reporter For Tweet About Ocasio-Cortez: ‘You Know Nothing About Women’s Clothing’
On Friday, The View held a discussion about how conservative America expresses its distaste for Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
The conversation started when Whoopi Goldberg brought up Washington Examiner reporter and Mediaite alum Eddie Scarry — who received heavy criticism on Thursday over a comment he made about Ocasio-Cortez. The tweet, which has since been deleted, suggested that the outfit Ocasio-Cortez wore in a recent walk through Congress is evidence that she’s lying about her financial situation.
“The first thing I understand when I see what you wrote, sir, is that you know nothing about women’s clothing,” Goldberg commented. “Women can put together an outfit and make it look like a zillion dollars, it costs 45 cents. If you’ve gotta look good, that’s what women do. Hush, boy.”
Joy Behar called it a diss on Ocasio-Cortez’s self description as a Democratic socialist, and Abby Huntsman had a hard time following Scarry’s explanation that he was taken out of context.
“She’s the easiest target for conservatives, they love to mess with her,” Huntsman said. “Stay away from the clickbait. If you have policy disagreements and differences, focus on that.”
Ana Navarro eventually got in by saying conservatives need to “get a hobby” instead of keeping up their “obsessed” mockery of Ocasio-Cortez for being blatantly socialist.
