Alex Jones, a controversial radio host and friend of Charlie Sheen, appeared on The View today to discuss Sheen’s strange behavior, however, Jones managed to squeeze in some very off-topic conspiracy theories that left co-hosts Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg struggling to maintain control. It’s not surprising that Jones does not have many fans on the right or the left, being a prominent 9/11 Truther and a peddler of other conspiracies, thus many were left to wonder why The View even invited him to appear at all?
Jones proved he was a loyal friend to Sheen, not only by defending Sheen’s erratic behavior as merely that of someone adjusting to being off drugs, but also with his declaration that everyone in the media should be concerned about greater villains in society. Jones offered one suggestion, “let’s compare George Bush, a million dead in Iraq” and continued to complain about what really happened with the World Trade Center, the illegality of TSA airport searches and much more. As the co-hosts attempt to steer the topic back to Sheen, Walters clearly makes a face that suggests Jones will not be returning anytime soon. Though at least when Jones is done crazily ranting he ends with a positive message, advising viewers to “stay clean, don’t do drugs.”
