The Last Ship is pushing back the two-hour season premiere they had scheduled due to a scene reminiscent of the tragedy that took place last night in Orlando.
The show explores the lives of a U.S. naval destroyer crew as they cope with a post-apocalyptic world that’s been greatly depopulated by global virus. As CNN’s Brian Stelter noted, TNT decided to bag tonight’s opener for Season 3 because it features a shooting scene at a nightclub in Vietnam.

As the statement makes clear, the move is an act of sensitivity after an Islamic extremist’s attack on a gay nightclub left fifty people dead while at least fifty others have also been injured.
