Tomi Lahren: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Encouraged Cardi B’s ‘Physical Threat Towards Me’
Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren appeared on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning and called out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for backing rapper Cardi B after the fellow Bronx-based rapper and Fox Nation host got into an ugly Twitter spat.
Cardi B spent part of her Sunday calling out Lahren after the recurring Fox & Friends contributor tried to insult Ms. B over her blistering criticism of President Donald Trump and his shutdown.
The performer released a scorching Instagram video calling out Trump and his “fucking racist redneck” supporters over the Trump shutdown. Lahren decided to respond by sarcastically calling Cardi a “genius,” In the ensuing several days, Ms. B apparently became aware of Lahren’s insult and, early Sunday morning, dismissed Lahren by promising “I will dog walk you.”
According to Urban Dictionary, which Lahren asked viewers to look up, “dog walk” means “When you’re beating someone’s ass and you’re dragging them as if you were walking a dog.” The alleged double standard of Democrats ostensibly threatening violence while calling out Trump supporters for doing the same was at issue.
But Lahren added a new wrinkle to this super stupid Millenial beef when she brought up a recent Tweet about the incident by newly elected Ocascio-Cortez. AOC sided with the rapper in the beef, Tweeting:
Why do people think they can mess with Bronx women without getting roasted?
They act as though our borough hasn’t been perfecting the clapback game since the Sugarhill Gang ? y’all just found it on Twitter https://t.co/pgxUU1BDJs
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) January 20, 2019
Host Steve Doocy asked Lahren, “were you surprised to see that?”
After claiming that she’s “not surprised at anything Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez does, Lahren alleged that “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, on all daily basis, says that Trump supporters and President Trump himself incite violence and then she goes and applauds and encourages a tweet by a rap his or her threatens physical violence against so, again, this is a double standard at play and not just rappers.”
One could argue that Cardi B was speaking hyperbolically and didn’t literally intend to “dog walk” Lahren, though the irresponsible use of hyperbole and over-the-top “roasting” language on Twitter applauded by AOC would certainly be called out by the left if a similar statement were made by Trump.
