One of the top United Kingdom politicians who pushed for the Brexit really went after President Obama for meddling today.
UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage told Trish Regan he was very pleased at how despite pressure from all around the world and specifically from Obama, Britons did the right thing.
Regan brought up the criticism that Vladimir Putin sees Brexit as a good thing by making Europe more divided. Farage said this:
“Vladimir Putin behaved in a more statesman-like manner than President Obama did in this referendum campaign. Obama came to Britain, very disgracefully, telling us we’d be at the back of the queue… Treating us, America’s oldest, strongest ally in this most extraordinary way. Vladimir Putin maintained his silence.”
Farage clarified that he’s no Putin fan, though he did warn, “Don’t poke the Russian bear with a stick.”
