Trevor Noah Mocks Pantsless John Conyers: He’s Like A ‘Civil Rights Winnie The Pooh’

On Monday night, Trevor Noah took on the “creeps” of Capitol Hill.

After addressing President Trump‘s semi-endorsement of GOP Alabama Senate Roy Moore, Noah insisted that Democrats “should be loving this” because it’s like “shooting fish in a barrel,” but with recent allegations made against Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) and Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), Democrats are “in a barrel of their own.”

The Daily Show pointed out that Conyers, or as he called him the “black Yosemite Sam,” was making history for 53 years voting for the Voting Rights Act, but ripped him for being accused of having a meeting without his pants on.

“It turns out even congressional icons have gone to the School of [Harvey] Weinstein,” Noah said. “And do you know what makes it weirder in this story is he’s not wearing pants but he’s still wearing his shirt. Like a civil rights Winnie the Pooh.”

In the wake of these scandals that have hit sitting Democrats, Noah said he found it interesting that only one sitting Republican has called on Franken or Conyers to resign.

“You would think Republicans would be all over. This you have your political opponents literally caught with their pants down and not going to go after them?” Noah continued. “It could be because they don’t know the finishing move or it could be they know men like Conyers are just the tip of the dick-berg.”

Noah reminded viewers that Congress has already paid out $15 million in sexual harassment and discrimination settlements, or as Bill O’Reilly calls it a “bargain.”

“I think congressmen aren’t calling on their colleagues to step down because they’re afraid that it would set a precedent that would come back to bite them,” he predicted. “Because more accusations could come out at anytime.”
