Trevor Noah Rips Trump on Saudi Arabia: ‘He Wears His Moral Bankruptcy on His Sleeve’
On Wednesday night, Trevor Noah blasted President Donald Trump over his handling of the suspected murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
After mocking the president for not believing in man-made climate change, Noah asked if he believes Saudi Arabia was behind the disappearance of the Washington Post columnist and despite mounting evidence, Trump has remained “reluctant” in blaming them.
Noah knocked Trump for pointing to the arms deal the U.S. has with Saudi Arabia as a reason why he doesn’t want to jump to conclusions.
“You know, say what you want about Trump, but he wears his moral bankruptcy on his sleeve,” Noah reacted. “Because in all honesty, other presidents have also made these types of calculations, but Trump is the only one that admits it.”
The Daily Show host then shredded the president for comparing the rush to declare Saudi Arabia’s guilt to newly-confirmed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
“Are you kidding me?!?” Noah exclaimed. “Brett Kavanaugh? You’re gonna bring Brett Kavanaugh into this? I like how Trump’s way of dealing with an extremely sensitive issue is to bring in another extremely sensitive issue… I mean, poor Supreme Court Justice for life Brett Kavanaugh. He just got finished with one giant controversy and now you’re gonna drag him into another one?”
Noah wrapped up the segment by saying Trump’s remarks “capture the truth.”
“In many ways, this is like the Kavanaugh situation,” Noah continued. “Trump says he wants to find out what happened, but in reality, he has already made up his mind.”
