Trump Campaign Co-Chair: If ‘Words Matter’ for Trump, What About for Obama and Clinton?

A Donald Trump campaign co-chair told Chuck Todd on MSNBC today that if words matter where Trump is concerned, they sure should matter for President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Todd confronted Sam Clovis about Trump’s seeming inability to focus and told him that “words do matter” because Trump has gotten into trouble because of those words (especially this week.)

Clovis asked if that means words matter when the president refuses to talk about radical Islamic terrorism or if “words really matter” to Clinton when she “lied to Congress” and obfuscates about her emails.

Todd did point to the red line President Obama drew regarding Syria “and those words mattered… and it was a hard lesson for him.”

But shouldn’t words matter most to someone who says he has “the best words”?
