Trump Defends Immigration Order From Judge’s Injunction: ‘Courts Seem to Be So Political’
During a speech today with law enforcement officials, President Donald Trump seemed to suggest that America would never be safe again if the legal system continues to halt his immigration restrictions and make political moves against him.
The Trump administration has presented its appeal against the block on their travel ban, and today the president said that if judges wanted to show real respect for the court system, they’d, “do what they should be doing” and accept his argument. Trump also said he listened to the arguments from critics and statements from Judge James Robart, and POTUS said they invoked, “things that really had nothing to do” with the statutes his team used to justify their position.
“I don’t ever want to call a court biased, so I won’t call it biased,” Trump said. “But courts seem to be so political, and it would be so great for our justice system if they would be able to read a statement and do what’s right.”
