Trump Dismisses Kavanaugh Allegations as ‘Totally Political’: ‘I’m With Him All the Way’
President Donald Trump called all the sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh “totally political,” adding that he stands by the judge “all the way.”
“Judge Kavanaugh is an outstanding person. I’m with him all the way. We’ll see how it goes with the Senate and we’ll see how it goes with the vote,” Trump said this morning. “I think it could be — a chance this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate for anything.”
He continuedL “I am with Judge Kavanaugh and I look forward to a vote. And for people to come out of the woodwork from 36 years ago and 30 years ago and never mentioned it. All of a sudden it happens. In my opinion it’s totally political.”
Trump has also stated that he wishes for one of Kavanaugh’s accusers, Christine Blasey Ford, to testify before the Senate with her allegations, so they can move on to confirming the judge. However, he has already suggested Ford’s claims are false, tweeting that if they did happen, she would have “immediately” gone to the police.
I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!
