Last week, we reported on the third unsuccessful attempt by MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski to push Donald Trump to reveal who he surrounds himself with for adequate counsel on foreign policy. Trump bobbed and weaved, never settling on a definitive response of any kind. He then meekly offered, “Well, I’m not doing it this morning, Mika… I said I would have it in due time.”
Wednesday on Morning Joe, Trump finally gave a response to the question that Brzezinski has been dogging him with for nearly a month. Well, sort of. The first response out of his mouth was really quite telling, after Brzezinski asked yet again, “Who are you talking to consistently since we have some dire foreign policy issues percolating around the world right now?”
“I’m speaking with myself,” said the real estate mogul who dominated with Mega Tuesday primary wins in Florida, Illinois, and North Carolina. He continued, saying the following phrase verbatim:
Because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things.
The likely presidential nominee for the Republican party then recounted the tale of how he wrote a book in 2000 that mentioned Osama bin Laden‘s name as evidence that he should be the chief architect of his entire foreign policy infrastructure.
“So, I know what I’m doing… my primary consultant is myself — at the appropriate time I’ll tell you who those people are,” he told Brzezinski.
“You’ll let us know who at some point?” asked Brzezinski, who will utterly smash the comedic rule of three when she inevitably is forced to ask the question again next week for the fifth time.
After the interview, Joe Scarborough at least cheerfully offered, “That’s the fourth time you tried!” Watch the above clip from MSNBC.
