Trump Mocks the ‘Dishonest’ Press for Downplaying His Chances in Anti-Media Rant at Rally
President-elect Donald Trump didn’t let much time go by at his big post-victory rally tonight before taking shots yet again at “the extremely dishonest press.”
After the boos from the crowd, Trump singled out ABC’s Martha Raddatz for her emotional reaction on election night to the prospect of him being the next president.
And from there, the president-elect mocked all the “conventional wisdom” before the election that he had no path to 270, that there was a “blue wall” in a few big states, and that there were deep-red states he might not win.
He even took some shots at Evan McMullin as he talked about winning in Utah.
And as Trump recalled watching TV on election night, it was clear he found the disbelief on many people’s faces very very amusing.
UPDATE –– 12/2, 1:51 pm ET: A spokesperson for ABC News provided Mediaite this response to Trump’s comments about Raddatz:
“This is ridiculous and untrue. Martha is tough and fair and not intimidated by anyone.”
And for the record, Raddatz herself tweeted this out a day after the moment in question:
Thank you Brian. You are correct. It is FICTION that I was "choked up." https://t.co/od5A9I86g9
