Trump on Whether He Believes the Rafael Cruz Conspiracy He Pushed: ‘No I Don’t’

trumpWolf Blitzer confronted Donald Trump this afternoon about him pushing “conspiracy theories” about Ted Cruz‘s father yesterday, and Trump basically said he doesn’t believe the conspiracy that he egged on.

Remember, this was a National Enquirer “report” claiming that Rafael Cruz was photographed with Lee Harvey Oswald before JFK’s assassination. Trump asked yesterday, “What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death?”

Blitzer asked him if he honestly thinks Cruz’s father was connected to the assassination. Trump said, “No I don’t.”

Blitzer then confronted him on why he can’t hold himself to a “higher standard than to repeat conspiratorial theories like that” when he’s the presumptive GOP nominee.

Trump’s response was 1) he wasn’t the presumptive nominee when he said it yesterday, and 2) he’s a counter-puncher.
