Donald Trump sat down for an interview with Sharyl Attkisson on her show Full Measure and she asked him about the New York attorney general’s investigation into the Trump Foundation.
She asked, “Are you confident that the Trump foundation has followed all charitable rules and laws?” Trump responded, “Well, I hope so, I mean, my lawyers do it.”
“We give away money, I don’t make anything, I take no salaries,” he said, “I take no––any costs, I have zero costs, and a lot of money goes through the Trump Foundation into charities. Goes to charities, it doesn’t go to me, it goes to charities.”
Attkisson did not follow up with questions about any of the reporting about the Trump Foundation (which he and his campaign have yet to respond to specific rebuttals to). In fact, she didn’t even have a follow-up question, just an observation about how the New York attorney general is openly supporting Hillary Clinton.
Still, Trump expressed his confidence that “my people do a very good job with it.”
