Donald Trump and his campaign have been touting for the past three days how much he deserves credit for not invoking Bill Clinton‘s past transgressions during the debate.
In an interview with NECN today, Trump said he “would have had the right” to have gone after the former president because 1) Hillary Clinton has said “horrible and false things” about him, and 2) her husband is campaigning for her, which makes him fair game.
But when asked why his past reflects on her, Trump said this:
“Well, you’ll have to figure that out. I think it’s pretty simple to figure that out.”
