Trump Publicly Comments on James Comey Firing: ‘He Was Not Doing a Good Job’

The morning after he fired FBI Director James Comey, President Donald Trump briefly commented on the bombshell news.

Meeting with pool reporters in the White House and seated next to former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the president gave a short and to-the-point reason for Comey’s termination.

“He wasn’t doing a good job, very simply,” he noted. “He was not doing a good job.”

When pressed further if Comey’s firing would impact his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today, he brushed off the question and ordered the reporters out.
