President Trump was giving a speech today about how gang violence impacts America, but he found some time to remind everyone about his view that rich people should be the ones running the country.
As he spoke about efforts to dismantle MS-13 and other gangs around America, Trump started speaking about the “rough guys” who serve under ICE director Thomas Homan. From there, Trump went off the cuff by talking about how its not politically correct “to have rough people doing this kind of work… just like they don’t want to have rich people at the head of treasury.”
If you forgot about how Trump wants rich guys in charge, there’s no need to panic, because he kept on that tangent to make sure he was coming in clear.
“I want a rich guy at the head of treasury, right? I want a rich guy at the head of commerce, because we’ve been screwed so badly on trade deals, I want people that made a lot of money now to make a lot of money for our country.”
Steve Mnuchin is Secretary of the Treasury, and yes, he’s loaded.
