President Donald Trump said it is up to Attorney General William Barr on if he is going to release the findings of the report from Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation. This comes as CNN reports Barr is set to announce the completion of the probe as early as next week.
“That will be up to the new attorney general. He’s a tremendous man, a tremendous person who really respects this country and respects the Justice Department,” Trump said to reporters in the Oval Office.
“So that will be totally up to him. The new attorney general, yes. Now, I guess from what I understand, that will be totally up to the attorney general. Okay,” he added.
Once Mueller submits his final report, Barr will then have to submit a summary of it to Congress since the original is “confidential.”
