President Donald Trump shut down a reporter today when he was asked for details about his meeting yesterday with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, FBI Director Chris Wray, and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.
Trump held a press spray with South Korean president Moon Jae-in in the Oval Office, during which they fielded questions about the setbacks for the denuclearization summit with North Korea. At one point, however, a reporter asked Trump about his meeting with Rosenstein, Wray, and Coats, in which he supposedly demanded a Department of Justice investigation into whether the FBI spied on his 2016 campaign.
Trump refused to answer the question, and he scolded the reporter for asking about it during Moon’s visit.
“What’s your next question please,” Trump said. “I have the president of South Korea here. He doesn’t want to hear these questions, if you don’t mind.”
Even though Trump wouldn’t answer the Rosenstein question, he did take some time to talk about how scandalous and “very illegal” it would be if the FBI had a spy in his campaign.
