Trump Slams NYT Again Minutes After Reporter Defends White House Piece on CNN

President Trump slammed The New York Times in another tweet tonight minutes after one of the paper’s reporters defended a big new report on him on CNN.
The report in question––which Sean Spicer said the Times should apologize to Trump for because of its inaccuracies––contains a few interesting tidbits about the White House, including how the president consumes TV news of the day, him supposedly not being fully briefed on that executive order putting Steve Bannon on the NSC, and his frustrations with how his first few weeks are being publicly perceived.
Trump went after the Times earlier today on Twitter, and he did the same again tonight:
The failing @nytimes was forced to apologize to its subscribers for the poor reporting it did on my election win. Now they are worse!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 7, 2017
(Again, for the record, the Times issued a note to readers after the election results, but it did not contain an apology.)
A lot of media observers have noticed Trump tends to tweet shortly after certain subjects are covered on cable networks (especially Fox News). Well, Trump tweeted tonight minutes after Maggie Haberman, one of the two Times reporters who wrote the article, defended its accuracy on CNN.
She told Anderson Cooper they asked the White House what exactly the inaccuracies are, and all they’ve heard so far is Spicer saying he doesn’t think Trump has a bathrobe (a small detail in the piece).
She was a little stunned by how much the reaction today focused on the bathrobes, telling Cooper the purpose here in part is to humanize the president and provide insight into how he’s adjusting to life in the White House.
