Trump Stands by His Claim About 9/11 Cheering, Brags He Has ‘World’s Greatest Memory’
Donald Trump is still standing by his assertion that there were “thousands” of people in New Jersey cheering on 9/11.
NBC News reporter Katy Tur appeared on MSNBC earlier tonight to tell Steve Kornacki about her lengthy phone call with Trump, explaining that Trump defended himself in part by touting the scores of people tweeting at him that he’s right.
Tur said she was “asking like a broken record” over and over where he saw this video and whether he might have mistook it for video of Palestinians in Gaza celebrating after 9/11. But nope, Trump insisted that when he said it was thousands in New Jersey, he meant it, even though there is absolutely no evidence to back that up.
“He was adamant,” Tur explained. “No, he was not conflating the two. He says that he has, and I quote, ‘the world’s best memory and that everybody knows that.”
