Trump Touts How He and Indian Prime Minister Are ‘World Leaders in Social Media’ in Joint Presser

During his joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Trump took a moment to talk about something that the two world leaders have in common: a big social media presence.

He made the following remarks:

“I am proud to announce to the media, to the American people, and to the Indian people, that Prime Minister Modi and I are world leaders in social media. We’re believers. Giving the citizens of our countries the opportunity to hear directly from their elected officials and for us to hear directly from them. I guess it’s worked very well in both cases.”

A CNN report earlier today took notice of just how large a social media following both President Trump and Prime Minister Modi have. Per their reporting, Trump and Modi are the two most-followed world leaders on Twitter.
