Trump: Very ‘Inappropriate’ for Gingrich to Criticize Me for Attacking Judge

Donald Trump was on Fox & Friends this morning to defend his racially-tinged attacks on the judge in the Trump University case, and addressed specific criticisms from Newt Gingrich.

Gingrich, who has been floated as a Trump VP nominee, yesterday declared that Trump’s comments about the Hispanic judge were “inexcusable” and one of his “worst mistakes.” (He stopped short of calling it racist.)

The Fox & Friends crew this morning let Trump brag about his record of lawsuits and how great Trump University is before he responded to Gingrich.

“I saw Newt,” Trump said, “I was surprised at Newt, I thought it was inappropriate what he said.”

Brian Kilmeade did press Trump a bit on how exactly these ethnic attacks help him. Trump fell back on that “counterpuncher” line and insisted, “All I’m trying to do is figure out why I’m being treated so unfairly by a judge.”
