Nothing can accurately convey the devastation after a natural disaster quite like raw emotion. While reporting by phone to KFOR-TV’s two studio anchors, Oklahoma reporter Lance West broke down on-air as he happened upon the bodies of third-grade children being pulled from the rubbled of a destroyed elementary school.
“In my 18 years covering tornados, this is, without question, the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen,” the Emmy-winning reporter said as he began to cry upon viewing children being pulled out of Plaza Towers Elementary. When he pulled himself together, he told the anchors that he is now racing over to the wreckage to offer any assistance he can.
