Uhh… What? Local Newscast Pays Tribute to Man Who Is Definitely Not Nelson Mandela

Detroit’s local WDIV news broadcast attempted to pay heartfelt tribute to former South African President Nelson Mandela Thursday night, along with every other news outlet in the country. The anchors discussed his “iconic” voice that was “full of compassion.”

But when the team threw to reporter Chauncy Glover, who spoke to Detriot NAACP President Wendell Anthony about Mandela’s passing, the graphic that appeared on the screen featured the photo of someone who was most-definitely not the South African leader:

Yep, that’s New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez.
