Some Americans may not receive their Christmas gifts on-time as the United Parcel Service announced that it experienced overwhelmingly high order volume and will not be able to deliver many packages until after the holiday.
UPS officials admitted the sad fact on Tuesday evening after receiving a large amount of customer inquiries on why packages had never made it to their final destination.
“The volume of air packages in our system exceeded the capacity of our network, as demand was much greater than the forecast,” UPS reported on its website. Despite the delivery failures, the company does not plan to make any deliveries or pickups on Christmas Day, and will just resume its normal service on Thursday.
