Warren Buffett Donated to ‘Ready for Hillary,’ But Didn’t Know It Was a Super PAC
In a new interview, billionaire and staunch super PAC opponent Warren Buffett revealed that he donated to the “Ready for Hillary” group without knowing it was … well, a super PAC.
“Ready for Hillary” is the group charged with creating and building the foundation for Hillary Clinton‘s expected 2016 presidential campaign.
“It’s a good one, because I did not know it was a super PAC,” Buffett told CNN’s Poppy Harlow. “They had a maximum, which was $25,000. I think of super PACs as these things with hundreds of thousands or millions. I did not know it was a super PAC.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Buffett said he believes the former Secretary of State will be the next president, and is not worried about the controversy surrounding her email practices.
Buffett added he prefers to “go out and raise money” for Clinton, rather than cut her a large check, because he does not think a few billionaires and millionaires should be able to control the result of an election.
