Wasserman Schultz Condemns Huckabee’s ‘Oven’ Comment; Won’t Say if She’ll Vote for Iran Deal

Add Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) to the list of those publicly condemning Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee for his comments comparing President Barack Obama‘s Iran nuclear deal to leading the Israelis to “the door of the oven.”

Appearing on CNN Monday afternoon, the Democratic chairwoman said such words were “unacceptable” for any presidential candidate, regardless of party. “No matter how people feel about the Iran deal,” she said, “to make the suggestion that there is some comparison to the six million Jews who lost their lives… to preventing Iran, in a deal, from achieving a nuclear weapon is an outrageous, unacceptable analogy.”

Wasserman Schultz, who is known as a liberal supporter of Israel, wavered on whether she plans to vote for the president’s deal: “I’m in the middle of, really, reviewing it and looking at all the moving parts,” she said, avoiding a conclusive answer.

“There’s a legitimate cause for concern,” she added upon repeated pressing from Wolf Blitzer. “I want to take my time.”
