WATCH: GOP Rep. Makes Strzok Hold Dramatic Re-enactment of His Anti-Trump Texts
When the House Judiciary Committee reconvened for their hearing with Peter Strzok on Thursday afternoon, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) started things off by having the FBI official recite several of his most controversial text messages to Lisa Page.
Strzok is still in the hot seat due to lingering questions of whether his hatred of President Donald Trump tainted the integrity of his work with special counsel Robert Mueller and the Hillary Clinton investigations. To this end, Issa gave Strzok a printout of the texts on his phone, inclusing some in which he referred to Trump as a “douche,” a “disaster” and other less-than-flattering characterizations.
Strzok snarked a bit when Issa asked him twice to go through the text where he told Page “we’ll stop” Trump. After Issa ceded the rest of his time, Strzok got a last word in, defending himself by referring to the context of when he sent his texts.
