WATCH: Hannity Tells Mediaite ‘He’d Have a Drink With Anyone’ And Other Bon Mots from ‘Most Influential’ Party
In case you missed it, Mediaite’s Most Influential in News Media list was feted last Thursday with a big bash at Freds at Barneys. The top names in media came out to dish on the state of the news business over cocktails, from star Fox News hosts to CNN White House correspondents.
Mediaite’s own Ken Meyer came to the party armed with a camera and microphone, and asked some of the top newsmakers in the country a couple of questions on the red carpet — namely, which rival they’d most like to take for a drink, and what they think President Donald Trump thinks of them.
Sean Hannity, who showed up at the party before heading back to Fox News HQ to film his 9 p.m. show, was coy on who he’d invite for a drink. A very punctual George Stephanopoulos had an old friend in mind for his drink date: CNN anchor Jake Tapper. CNN’s Alisyn Camerota told Mediaite she thinks the president “loves” the hosts of New Day, and Jim Acosta, a high profile foe of the White House, said he thinks the president “respects what I do.”
Pat Kiernan and Don Lemon, meanwhile, want to see what are in Trump’s tax returns, while Brian Kilmeade wants to know if he’ll seek reelection in 2020.
Other top stars that turned out for the Mediaite bash included CNN’s Jeff Zucker, SE Cupp, John Berman, Brooke Baldwin, Margaret Hoover, John Avlon, Fox News’s Ed Henry, Melissa Francis, Bill Hemmer, Andrew Napolitano, MSNBC’s Ari Melber, Megyn Kelly, Douglas Brunt, Diane Sawyer, Brian Ross, Dan Abrams, Preet Bharara, Ann Coulter, Jay Sures, Evan Siegfried, Kristin Tate, and the staff of Mediaite.
