At tonight’s Golden Globes, Kristen Wiig and Steve Carrell presented the award for Best Animated Film. In their intro, they each recalled their stories of seeing their first animated movies. As we’ve come to expect from the two of them, the stories aren’t what you might picture.
Carrell remembered seeing Fantasia at age six. He doesn’t talk much about the magic of it, though, because the day he saw it also happened to be the day his father told his mother he wanted a divorce. Wiig had a similar experience- she recalls that time she went to see Bambi. Unfortunately, that was the day her family had to put their three dogs to sleep.
