White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today to discuss President Donald Trump’s latest plans and administrative agenda. The briefing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
Sanders will probably face more questions about Trump’s demand for Jeff Sessions to put an end to Robert Mueller‘s investigation. The press secretary took a lot of questions about this yesterday, but there is still remaining intrigue over Rudy Giuliani‘s insistence that Trump won’t actually order Mueller’s firing. The special counsel has reportedly come up with a limited set of questions they would like to ask Trump in an interview, but in the meantime, Giuliani is calling on them to “put up or shut up” and conclude the probe already.
It’s also possible Sanders will be asked why she’s sticking with the bogus story she cited yesterday when she accused the media of being irresponsible with their journalism. When asked if the White House condones the harassment CNN’s Jim Acosta received during the president’s rally this week, Sanders dodged the question and cited a debunked claim that the media accidentally helped Osama Bin Laden avoid U.S. surveillance. The press secretary is standing by that story even though various journalists have presented evidence disproving her point.
