White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will stand at her favorite podium on Thursday afternoon for the daily press briefing. Today’s press briefing will begin at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Today could be a rare day that forces Sanders to answer questions on policy, and not whatever President Donald Trump was tweeting in the middle of the night.
The dominant theme will likely be the president’s move to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, along with plans to transfer the American embassy from Tel Aviv to the Holy City.
There’s also the looming tax reform bill, which has now passed both houses of Congress.
Of course, this is Donald Trump we are talking about here. There is plenty of scandal to go around, which will likely be addressed by members of the White House press corps.
Donald Trump Jr. endured a mammoth grilling by the House Intelligence Committee yesterday, with one committee member noting that he seemed to have a “serious case of amnesia.”
There’s also the curious case of Michael Flynn, who copped a plea deal late last week and is reported to have turned on the president, offering up information on the campaign to Robert Mueller in exchange for leniency.
The tiny gun-toting-specter of Roy Moore will also likely hang over the proceedings. Alabama’s special election is in five days, after all, and the president has offered his full support to the alleged child molester.
Finally, if any reporter wants to get really silly, they could always ask about whatever was going on with Donald Trump’s mouth yesterday. #DentureDonald forever ya’ll.
Again, the press briefing gets under way at 1:30 p.m. EST. Watch above, via The White House.
