WATCH: Rand Paul Compares GOP to Charlie Sheen — ‘Winning!’
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was apparently feeling high on what he views as the recent success of the Republican Party Thursday night when he told an audience of conservatives at the Liberty Political Action Conference in Virgina that the GOP is “winning,” just like Charlie Sheen.
“Does anybody remember Charlie Sheen, when he was kind of going crazy last year. And he was going around, jumping around saying ‘Winning, winning, we’re winning,’” Paul told the crowd, referring to Sheen’s very public breakdown back in early 2011. “Well I kind of feel like that, I think we are winning.” Just in case any was getting the wrong idea, he added, “And I’m not on any drugs.”
Chuck Todd evidently got a kick out of Paul comments, including them in his “First Read” segment Friday morning on MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown. If Rand Paul wants to be the Charlie Sheen of the GOP, this was a great first step.
