WATCH: TV Reporter Mugged on Camera

South African journalist Vuyo Mvoko was waiting on the side of a Johannesburg street to file a report for his station SABC Tuesday night when he was mugged right in front of his camera.

A contributing editor for SABC, Mvoko was reporting from outside Milpark hospital on the impending admittance of Zambian President Edgar Lungu. Two men can be seen passing in the background of the shot, and they clearly zero in on the journalist.

“We’re being mugged,” Mvoko is heard to say as the men surround him.

Mvoko said he was made to give up his cell phone at gunpoint, and that the muggers also got off with computer equipment and the phones of the crew. (Might have been a good idea to steal the camera, too.)

Mvoko tweeted afterward that he was safe, and uploaded video of the incident in hopes it would help authorities locate the men:
