President Trump is giving a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland today, where he will speak about America’s economic strength and call for increased international investment in the country. The speech is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. EST.
Trump’s speech is likely to focus on the impact his economic policies have had on America and around the world. The president will lay out the international connotations of his “America First” agenda, and he will explain how the U.S. is open for business thanks to the tax reforms and slashed regulations.
Trump is not likely to bring up this topic before the forum, but his speech today is overshadowed by the groundbreaking news that he seriously considered firing Robert Mueller last June. Even though Trump and various administration officials have insisted this was not the case in the past, multiple news outlets have confirmed that the president gave the order to top lawyer Don McGahn, but backed off when McGhan threatened to quit instead of obeying.
