Donald Trump talked to reporters as his first moment of participation at the Iowa state fair. In the midst of repeating his familiar points and positions, Trump said that he does not want to explain his policy plans yet because he wants to remain flexible instead of committing to any concrete plan.
“When I do a deal, I don’t say that here is 14 points, I go out and do it,” Trump said. He continued to explain that he has been able to influence politicians throughout his career, and that his efforts to deal with city zoning for the construction of his empire were a far greater challenge than any he will face on foreign policy.
“I built a city on the west side of Manhattan,” Trump said. “I’ve been dealing with politicians all my life, they’re all talk and no action.”
