As President Trump continues his golf vacation week, the press managed to get up close to him today as he met with members of the U.S. Coast Guard.
After taking pictures with the guardsmen and praising their hurricane relief efforts this year, Trump announced that he was closing the course to tourists so they could have a private tournament. Trump bragged about how it’s “one of the great courses of the world,” and because it’s Trump, he noted the media’s presence on the scene.
“The media is terrific,” Trump said in a brief, rare compliment. “All of you were watching my shot. Did you see it? The shot and the birdie. I made it. They will say it’s a triple-bogey, but I actually got a birdie.”
