There’s really no claim too big or too small for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to make, but on Friday morning’s New Day, Trump surrogate Pastor Darrell Scott gave the real estate mogul a run for his money when he briefly gave Trump credit for the auto bailout. During a heated debate segment with former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer, Pastor Scott made the case by telling host Alisyn Camerota that Trump had already “bailed out the auto in…”, before catching himself. The look on Archer’s face is priceless:
He bailed out the auto in… I mean, he just, uh, he didn’t bail out the auto industry,, what I’m saying is, he had been working in relationship with the auto industry in order to stimulate the American auto industry.
The bailout of the auto industry loomed large in the 2012 presidential campaign, because it was President Barack Obama who saved the auto industry. Just to get a head start on Pastor Scott’s next cable hit, Trump didn’t kill Osama bin Laden, either.
