‘We Have Not Been Treated Fairly’: Trump Bashes China Ahead of Xi Jinping Visit

President Trump held a Wounded Warrior event at the White House today, but before he took the stage, he got on TV to bash the world leader he’ll be meeting with in a matter of hours.

Trump gave a surprise interview to Fox’s Pete Hegseth on Thursday, where he was asked about how he will be hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago for meetings about international trade and policy. Trump said that “nobody really knows” how those meetings will turn out, though he decided to throw out a slam against China, similar to those he issued throughout the 2016 election.

“We have not been treated fairly on trade for many, many years,” Trump said. “No president’s taken care of that the way they should have, and we have a big problem with North Korea, we’re going to see what happens.”

North Korea is gearing up to be a thorny topic for the meetings ahead, since Trump gave China an ultimatum in an interview where he discussed whether he could get them to put more political pressure on the rogue nation. Trump said that if China is unwilling to help him curb North Korea’s aggressive policy and missile testing, America would take action against them alone.
