Megyn Kelly‘s entire show tonight featured a giant panel of people all arguing over police shootings, but things perhaps got the most heated when the subject was whether Black Lives Matter is “inherently racist,” as Rudy Giuliani put it.
Ed Mullins said that all lives matter to law enforcement and “black lives matter” is unnecessarily divisive. Pastor Mark Burns added, “It seems like black lives don’t really matter until a black life is killed by a white cop!”
Pastor Westley West shot back that Black Lives Matter is engaging in intra-community violence too, but Kelly brought up chants like “pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon!” and “what do we want? dead cops!”
Lisa Durden in particular got pretty fired up, shouting, “Everyone wants to deflect when we’re getting blown in the heads with bullets, chased down in the streets, choked until we can’t breathe.” She repeatedly told others to let her finish and said that the issue of black-on-black violence is a red herring when “all communities murder each other.”
Right afterwards, Jesse Lee Peterson called Black Lives Matter “a racial radical evil organization… worse than the KKK,” and it just took off from there.
