What Did This TV Anchor Do When His Video Stopped Working?
Picture this: You’re a TV sports anchor about to give your Friday night recap. But the video, a key component of your report, is not working. What do you do? You can awkwardly apologize for the technical difficulties before delivering an abridged verbal report, simply cut the segment altogether, or…
Grab a baseball bat, a football, and some golf clubs and re-enact the day’s sporting events all by yourself.
Taking his viewers back to pre-TV days when fireside charades was the norm (was it?), WSPA sports Todd Summers did just that on Friday evening.
After apologizing for his inability to show highlights, Summers launched into a three-minute recap that included catching and tossing a football on-set (Hannity style) and hitting several softballs with a tiny baseball bat.
All for love of the game (of broadcasting).
