White House: ‘No Evidence’ of What Trump Is Claiming in Voter Fraud Tweet

earnestThe White House weighed in today on Donald Trump‘s tweet yesterday about millions of supposed illegal votes.

In case you missed it, the President-elect tweeted yesterday that he would have won the popular vote if not for all the people who voted “illegally.” Fact-checkers quickly debunked this claim, which appeared to originate from some unverified tweets.

Josh Earnest was asked about Trump’s tweet at today’s White House press briefing and he said this:

“I think I would defer to the president-elect’s team for commentary on his tweets. I think what I can say as an objective fact is that there has been no evidence produced to substantiate a claim like that.”
