Pres. Barack Obama‘s brother-in-law, Oregon St. basketball coach Craig Robinson has a new book out this week, A Game Of Character, and he went on Stephen Colbert‘s Comedy Central show to promote it last night.
Besides joking about his similarities to Michelle Obama as well as his past job, he talked about who “vetted” the book – including the White House.
Robinson was asked about the ‘vetting’ by Colbert, and responded that he “got permission from my sister and my mom, and then the White House. Otherwise I would not have handed the book in, if I didn’t get their permission.”
While it may not be surprising that the White House took a look at the book ahead of time, the majority of the subject matter relates to life lessons and basketball. Still, there is a portion about Robinson growing up in Chicago. Colbert noted that “your sister seems like an angel, and if opposites attract, does that not mean the President is a Devil?”
Also, Robinson joked that when his parents met Barack Obama, “they liked him but they just didn’t think he’d last.”
