During an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, liberal filmmaker Michael Moore remarked on the recent comments from Oprah Winfrey in which she expressed hope now that Donald Trump has been elected.
Host Jake Tapper noted that Oprah’s comments after Trump met with President Barack Obama angered many people. Moore, on the other hand, said that is why we love her.
“Somebody needs to say that,” Moore insisted. “We do need hope.”
After pointing out that Trump looked like he didn’t belong there, Moore moved back to Oprah, noting that she represents an opportunity for Democrats.
“Democrats would be better off if they ran Oprah or Tom Hanks,” Moore stated. “Why don’t we run beloved people?”
Moore also brought up the fact that Republicans had previously run Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
